Certified (Labs-controlled)
Awarded by Discord Labs administrators after a manual review for quality, reliability, safety, and great user experience.
- - Granted and removed only by our admin team; developers cannot self-assign.
- - Criteria include uptime, helpful support, clear documentation, safe permissions, and positive community feedback.
- - Losing certification can happen for policy violations, poor uptime, or unresolved security issues.
- - Want to be considered? Submit a request via the Certification Application.
Discord Verified (Discord-controlled)
This badge comes directly from Discord. We only display it; we do not grant or remove it.
- - Discord awards verification to bots that meet their platform criteria (usually larger or high-trust bots).
- - You must apply through the Discord Developer Portal; Discord Labs cannot influence the decision.
- - Once Discord marks your bot as verified, we show the badge automatically.
- - If Discord removes verification, the badge will disappear on Labs after the next sync.
How badges update on Labs
- - Discord Verified status is pulled from Discord; we sync it automatically in the background when your bot is viewed and on scheduled tasks.
- - Certified status is stored in our database and updated by administrators after manual review.
- - Server counts sync from Discord separately; they do not affect verification or certification.
- - Badges appear anywhere your bot is listed: search, trending, lists, profile, and bot details.

Can I request certification? Yes — apply using the certification application form. Our team will review your bot against the published criteria.
Can I request Discord verification here? No. Apply directly with Discord. We only display the status Discord assigns.
How fast do badges update? Discord verification changes show after the next sync (usually within a few hours or the next time the bot page is viewed). Certification updates are immediate once an admin changes the status.
