Troubleshooting
Solutions to common API issues and how to resolve them
401 Unauthorized
Problem: Your requests are being rejected with a 401 error.
Try this
- Verify you are using a valid API key
- Check the key has not been revoked
- Ensure the key is sent in the Authorization header as a Bearer token
- Generate a new key if needed
400 Bad Request
Problem: Your request is being rejected with validation errors.
Try this
- Check all required fields are included
- Verify data types match the specification
- Ensure the JSON body is well formed
- Set the Content-Type header to application/json
- Read the error message for field-specific details
429 Too Many Requests
Problem: You are hitting the rate limit.
Try this
- Wait for the Retry-After duration
- Implement exponential backoff
- Reduce request frequency and batch operations
- Cache responses to reduce calls
- Contact us for higher limits if needed
Server count shows 0
Problem: Your bot is listed but shows no servers.
Try this
- Post stats to the API; unverified or small bots have no Discord fallback
- Confirm the botId matches your bot’s client ID
- Post at least hourly; updates are accepted once every 5 minutes per bot
Connection timeout
Problem: Requests are timing out or taking too long.
Try this
- Check your internet connection
- Increase the timeout in your HTTP client
- Retry after a few seconds
- Check the status page for incidents
- Test with a simple request first
